September is here and with it the gorgeous Springtime season!
As Spring is known for, it’s a time of new directions and new beginnings. In this week’s blog, we want to share with you some Spring clean-up tips for your wardrobe and also introduce you to one of the new and exciting fashions now on offer at Laloom.

In store this spring!
Among our latest additions are Embellished Kaftan Dresses. A first for Laloom, we are introducing this line with 6 gorgeous styles, each kaftan featuring crystals and vibrant prints. Adding a bit of bling and glamour to an otherwise more casual look. There are a ton of possibilities to put together a leisure outfit that’s unique and comfortable. Combine your embellished kaftan with pieces that suit your event and/or mood. Change it up by wearing pants with it; over shorts and a swimsuit; or wear it as a dress with a short slip underneath.

With great new Laloom fashions like these coming out, it’d be wonderful to add to and fulfil on our Spring Wish Lists – but given the current status of most of our wardrobes, it seems a bit of spring cleaning needs to be done first.
Make room and refresh your closet!
Have you ever watched an episode of a lifestyle show where the hosts give a makeover to their guest? It doesn’t have to be as drastic as reality tv shows demonstrate, but they’re still on the right track. Your wardrobe spring clean has to start with a review.

Firstly, try on each item. Then, ask yourself these questions while looking at each piece:
Does it fit?
Can you make the garment smaller/bigger? Or perhaps give it to someone else who it fits and would appreciate getting it?
Is there something wrong with it?
Check for damages.
When was the last time you wore each particular piece or garment?
Have you worn it in the last 12 months? (as Elle magazine says: If you haven’t worn it in a year, what makes you think you’re going to wear it now? Don’t hoard items under false pretenses).
How many times can this one garment be incorporated into an outfit?
If it doesn’t fit into much – how much do you love this garment? Is it unique enough to keep?
If you were shopping right now, would you buy it?
How does it make you feel when you wear it?
As you review each garment and have an idea about each of its merits, sort your wardrobe into piles:

Give Away
Doesn’t fit anymore? Not something you see yourself wearing again but still in perfect condition: Give it away – as they say, one’s throw away can be another’s treasure.
Keep
The essentials and key stand out pieces that make the bulk of your wardrobe.
Fix
Is it worth saving? Fix it! You’ll find out in the review stage just how much is in your wardrobe that you don’t wear because of a simple reason (a faulty zipper, a small hole in the bottom etc). If it’s really beyond saving, it might be time to retire the garment to the bin.
Finally, identify gaps in your wardrobe –
Your circumstances might have changed since your last spring clean. Moved to another area closer to the beach where it is warmer? Have an upcoming event such as a vacation to a tropical destination or a cruise trip? Think about your lifestyle right now and where you think you’re headed this coming year – does your wardrobe reflect this?
